I’m a runner. I love running to clear my mind and enjoy nature in a different way. Of course, not all runs are about “enjoying everything and just celebrating being on this run, feeling the air, the sun, and hearing the birds” and all that kind of stuff.
As a middle-distance runner, I train a lot on the track, doing intervals—which I love. I enjoy pushing my limits and trying to surpass them. But I’ve also learned to appreciate running and to go more often on easy runs, which are so important as well.
Here, it makes me so happy to have so many beautiful options. I love to run near the beach, especially at sunset or sunrise. And I’m not the only one. That’s one thing I love about Australia and the lifestyle of many here. It makes me so happy to get up early to run on the beach at sunrise, and so many people are there as well for running or surfing. So many people are so active already at 5 or 6 am, which I think makes it a lot easier to get on the train as well.
At the moment, my favorite spot for sunrise or sunset runs is Kawana Beach. I love the path there so much—but see for yourself:
